Interior Designer | Centennial, Castle Pines, Highlands Ranch, Littleton

"We didn't think we could love this house. Now we never want to leave."

That's what transformative design does. And it's why I limit my practice to 12 homes per year.

After designing residences in Berlin, Houston, and across the U.S., I made a deliberate choice: focus exclusively on South Denver homes within 20 minutes of my Centennial studio. Not because I can't work elsewhere, because this is how exceptional design actually happens.

I'm present for the crucial contractor conversation. Present when your custom cabinetry arrives. Present on installation day when we layer in the vintage pieces, the art, the textiles that make your home unmistakably yours.

My architectural training means I understand how your 1980s ranch actually works structurally. My international experience means I source from German fabricators, Colorado craftsmen, vintage dealers; wherever I can find exactly what your project needs.
My 15 years in practice mean I know which contractor battles are worth fighting.

The result? Interiors that feel like they evolved over time, not like they were decorated in a weekend.

What Makes Jamie House Design Different

I studied architecture alongside interior design, so I read construction drawings and understand how buildings actually work, essential when you're renovating or reconfiguring spaces.

Years designing homes in Berlin and Shanghai taught me global design perspective. Focusing my practice exclusively on South Denver means I know local contractors, understand regional building practices, and can be present when it matters.

I don't follow trends or push a signature aesthetic. I create interiors that balance beauty with function, sophistication with durability, and architectural integrity with how you actually live. Spaces that feel collected over decades, not ordered from a catalog.

The result: homes that work beautifully and age gracefully, not interiors designed for a photoshoot.

Design Philosophy

I create spaces that balance beauty with function, sophistication with comfort, and architectural integrity with modern livability. Our interiors are never generic or trend-driven. Instead, they reflect careful layering of materials, textures, and furnishings that create timeless appeal.

Whether transforming an established Centennial home or furnishing new construction in Castle Pines, we honor the context of each space while making it work beautifully for how you actually live.

Design Process
How I Transform Your Home

  • Centennial remodel interior design material selection

    Phase 1: Discovery

We begin by understanding how you live now and how you want to live. Through careful listening and site analysis, we assess your home's current state, identify opportunities, and develop a clear vision aligned with your goals and budget.

  • Fireplace wall with custom built-ins being installed after design by Jamie House Design

    Phase 2: Architectural Planning

Before selecting a single piece of furniture, we address the architecture. Should walls be removed for open-concept living? Does the kitchen need to expand? Would the primary suite benefit from reconfiguring adjacent spaces? These fundamental spatial decisions shape everything that follows.

  • Kitchen remodel plumbing and finish materials selection by interior design firm Jamie House Design

Phase 3: Material and Finish Selection

We specify every material in your project: flooring, cabinetry, countertops, tile, paint colors, fixtures, and lighting. These selections consider durability, aesthetics, budget, and how they work together as a cohesive whole.

  • Custom coffee bar built into the primary bedroom in BackCountry Highlands Ranch

Phase 4: Custom Elements and Millwork

Many South Denver homes benefit from custom solutions: built-in storage systems, window seats, mudroom organization, kitchen islands designed for your exact needs. We design these elements and work with skilled craftsmen to execute them flawlessly.

  • Littleton historic home installation by interior design studio Jamie House Design

    Phase 5: Furnishings and Installation

Only after the architecture and finishes are resolved do we turn to furnishings. We curate pieces from multiple sources; mixing custom upholstery, vintage finds, contemporary designs, and your cherished heirloom pieces. The result feels collected over time, not catalog-ordered.

Architectural Training That Matters

With a minor in architecture from Texas Tech University, I read construction drawings, understand structural systems, and coordinate effectively with contractors. This isn't decorating, it's architectural problem-solving. When renovating older homes especially, you need someone who understands how the building works.

After years navigating a four-year historic district approval for a 1920s Houston bungalow and working at an architecture firm in Aspen, I understand both preservation requirements and Colorado building practices. I know how to fight for good design when necessary.

Praise for Jamie House Design

“Jamie House Design was invaluable to us after we purchased a second home. We started from scratch and needed advice on paint colors, window coverings, wallpaper, rugs, furnishings, and decorative items. JHD was a delight to work with. Jamie truly listened to our preferences, and was able to find beautiful options that my husband and I could agree on (not always easy!). She was always responsive and diplomatic. Now, as I look around our home, I am so thankful for Jamie House Design every day.”

— E. Phelps

“Jamie is truly gifted in her career of design. She is not only gifted at seeing potential, a complete picture and is able to put things together in an imaginative way, she does all of that while analyzing her client’s personality and making it come to life. Walking into a room designed by Jamie gains you instant insight into what the owner is all about. I see that ability as a special gift.”

— J. Headley

“We had a wonderful experience working with Jamie House Design on our bathroom renovation. Jamie’s attention to detail and eye for design were evident in every aspect of the project. She listened carefully to our needs and delivered a design that was not only beautiful but also more functional. The final result is two stunning bathrooms that feel both luxurious and timeless. Highly recommend Jamie House Design for any interior design needs!”
